What's the Other Side?

Author's Note: In this piece you will hear about different points of view from different songs. Look for the connection I make from one song to the next.

In the song “All of The Lights” by Kanye West it’s in the point of view of Kanye West. The other singer in the song is Rihanna, she sings about turning on the lights. What I interpret when she says that is that she wants Kanye to see everything about her.  That she is not lying about anything and he can ask her anything.  From the point of view of Rihanna he lied about something, when she was completely honest about everything.

Rihanna thinks that Kanye has been cheating on her.  She’s not mad about him cheating, but she is mad at him for not telling her the truth.  She is also mad about how long he has been lying. This brought a question to me. Why would Kanye lie to her from that long? Is there another part to his side of the story that we don't know about?

On the flip side Kanye did want another chance, and he did realize what he did wrong. This reminds me of a song that Eminem and Rihanna did. The songs name is “I Love the Way You Lie”. In that song Eminem sings about how he wishes he could leave her but he just can’t.

In some point in each song they both sing about forgiveness. That makes me wonder why would the girl forgive the guy after he did that to her? Can a person just forgive another person after being cheated on?  It would be easier if you were closer to the person you were trying to forgive.

How would you feel if you found out someone very close to you has been lying to you about something? Would you give up on them or give them another chance? To give them another chance you have to know where they came from or why they did what they did. That’s why in the song “All of The Light” Kanye seem like he should be given another chance. If you look at it from Rihanna point of view he did something very wrong and she doesn’t know if she can forgive him.
